Privacy Policy for ScanSpend

ScanSpend (“the App”) is an income and expense tracking application with receipt scanning functionality. Your privacy is important to us, and this Privacy Policy explains how ScanSpend handles user data.

1. Data Storage and Processing

ScanSpend is designed to be offline-first.

All income, expense, and receipt data entered or scanned in the App is stored locally on the user’s device only.
ScanSpend does not upload, sync, or store user data on any external servers.
We do not have access to your financial data or scanned receipts.

Uninstalling the App will permanently remove all locally stored data from the device.

2. Information Collected

Financial Information

The App processes financial information such as:

Expense and income amounts
Categories and notes
Scanned receipt images

This information is processed only on the user’s device and is not transmitted off the device.

Automatically Collected Information

ScanSpend itself does not collect personal information.
However, third-party services used by the App may collect limited data as described below.

3. Third-Party Services

ScanSpend uses Google AdMob to display banner advertisements.

Google AdMob may collect and process certain information, including:

Advertising identifiers
Device information
Usage data for ad personalization and measurement

This data is collected and processed by Google in accordance with Google’s Privacy Policy:

ScanSpend does not control how Google AdMob collects or uses this data.

ScanSpend does not sell, rent, or share user financial data with third parties.
No financial or receipt data is transmitted to external servers.
Data sharing is limited to information collected by third-party advertising services (Google AdMob) as described above.

5. Data Retention and Deletion

All user data is stored locally on the device.
Users can delete their data at any time by clearing app data or uninstalling the App.
Uninstalling the App permanently deletes all locally stored data.

6. Security

Reasonable measures are taken to protect data stored on the device.
However, no method of electronic storage is completely secure, and ScanSpend cannot guarantee absolute security of data stored on a user’s device.

7. Children’s Privacy

ScanSpend is not intended for use by children under the age of 13.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

8. Future Features

If ScanSpend introduces optional cloud storage or online features in the future:

Users will be clearly informed
Explicit user consent will be required before any data is transmitted or stored online
This Privacy Policy will be updated accordingly

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.
Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated “Last updated” date.
